While YOUR CHRON is based on documenting the legacies of non-celebrities, we have a real-life interview of one of Houston’s favorite television celebrities, Erica Rose, as she gives us a glimpse into her extraordinary “real world” and how she has found love, meaning and success in her everyday life.

Erica Rose is sworn in to be an attorney with Judge Mike Engelhart

Erica Rose is passionate about family law and child custody. A native Houstonian, she graduated from The University of Houston Law Center and attended college at Emory University with a joint degree in English and Creative writing and a minor in theater. She ran track in college and was a staff writer at the Emory Wheel and performed in many theatrical productions.

Thereafter, she went on to star on “The Bachelor” and many other subsequent television shows, including an appearance on “Ellen DeGeneres”.

During her time at the University of Houston Law Center, she was President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and chaired the Moore’s School of Music Gala. She was honored and a speaker alongside actress Christine Baranski for the Human Rights Gala. Erica completed a summer clerkship at the law office of Dan Cogdell, a nationally prominent White Collar Defense attorney.

After graduating from the University of Houston Law Center, Erica went on to earn her LLM degree in Entertainment and Media Law from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.  There, she was editor of the award winning Biederman Entertainment Law Review.

While in Los Angeles, Erica clerked at The Rosen Law Group, a boutique entertainment Law Firm in Venice Beach, that represents a variety of entertainment law clients including production companies. Although she greatly enjoys the entertainment industry, she wanted to work more directly with people, and thus decided that family law was a natural fit.

She is a certified life coach from the Life Coach Institute of Orange County.  She specializes in empowerment coaching and dating and relationship coaching and has appeared on the TLC show “Love at First Kiss” as a dating and relationship coach.

Her life coach background makes her particularly compassionate regarding her family law clients. She returned to Houston in 2016, where she now lives with her husband Charles, two daughters Holland and Aspen, and their beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Sila.
